MAT Exam Pattern

MAT paper pattern is fixed as oppose to CAT whose pattern changes every year. Basically MAT contains 5 sections testing specific abilities. The name of sections can change though.

  • It is 2.5 hour exam containing 200 questions carrying 1 mark each.
  • The test usually comprise of Language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis & sufficiency, intelligence & critical reasoning and Indian & global environment.
  • Scores are mostly determined keeping in view the first four sections.
  • It depends on the respective institute whether to consider scores of GA section or not.
  • As per the recent analysis of Feb 2009 MAT, GA section was the most difficult but the rest could be solved with general aptitude.
