CAT scores are required to be eligible for admission to IIM’s and other management institutes. In addition to the IIMs, there are over 75 other management institutes across India accepting CAT scores for selection of candidates.
Candidates meeting with the minimum cut off in each section as well as in the aggregate become part of basic selections. From this pool, an index score is computed with 50 percent weight for the overall CAT score, 20 percent weight for academic performance in secondary school, 20 percent weight for higher secondary school and 10 percent weight for the work experience of the candidate.
