These task types can be further explained as under:

SL.NO.Writing Task TypesKey Features
1
INTEGRATED WRITING:
Read/Listen/Write
  • Here examinee reads a passage on an academic topic and then listens to a speaker discussing the same topic.
  • The examinee is then required to summarize imperative points in the reading passage and then explain how these points relate to the key points of the listening passage.
  • During the listening passage, the reading passage will disappear from the screen. So; the candidate must make notes of key points in the reading passage, so that he/ she can make further notes on the additional information of those key points from the listening passage.
2
INDEPENDENT WRITING:
Essay writing from Knowledge & Experience
The examinee is required to write an essay that supports an opinion on an issue and illustrate it by exemplifying those choices, rather than mentioning personal preference or choices.
