Sometimes an examinee may not feel satisfied with his/ her performance in the exam. In that case he/she may go for retaking TOEFL IBT.

• TOEFL IBT can be taken only once in any seven day period, even if you took the test and cancelled your scores.
• If you test more than once in a seven -day period, your new scores will not be reported and your test fee will not be refunded.
• Violation of this policy may result in additional action being taken.

However, ETS do print your previous test results on your new Score report sheet.

• So, they will probably pick the latest or the best score on your report.
• However, if your new score shows huge improvement, its good as it may eventually show your hard work.

It should be kept in mind that the examinee should be completely sure, that he/ she want to reappear for TOEFL. It means that if one has got a good score as per demand of universities but that good score is less than the personal expectations of the candidate, it will be better not to reappear, as the main motive of giving the test has been fulfilled.
